There are very few bands that can compose genuinely deep and honest music as well as Death Cab For Cutie. Their latest track "Black Sun" from new album Kintsugi is no exception as a short but assured journey of melancholy that soars into a crescendo of promise.
Like a lot of Death Cab’s back catalogue, "Black Sun" is built on a laid back melody and breezy momentum. That soon ascends into a flurry of guitars and raw emotion – something that’s been quite the rarity in recent offerings from the Washington quartet.
