When one of the finest Aussie bands Snakadaktal called it quits a few months ago, it was a big sad deal for us here at Stereofox. You can only imagine how excited I got when I realized that ft of this track is Snakadaktal's ex-vocalist Phoebe Lou.
"Dreamers" is the second track of the Melbourne-based duo Hopium and definitely one of the finest pieces of electronic music I've heard in quite some time. Even though there is not a whole lot on their Soundcloud I can already sense all the good things coming their way.
Both of the vocals sound like they were just meant to be in this song, creating the ghostly atmosphere despite of quite uplifting synths. The spoken outro also fits right in and just adds to the smoothness and dreaminess of the track. You will want to replay this over and over again. Smooth production and dreamy vocals of Phoebe Lou is apparently the key to success.
