Turn down the lights, go to that quiet place of yours, and get lost in this Tim Hecker soundscape, even if only for four short minutes.

This beautifully haunting track is a reincarnation of "Amps, Drugs, Harmonium", from his 2013 release, Virgins. The differences are subtle, but I like this track better than the original. Both Amps recordings draw the listener into eerie, almost supernatural atmospheres, but "Mellotron" is contoured in such a way that it feels more desolate and wistful than "Harmonium". Each floating texture is as fleeting and hazy as a dream, without any distinct beginning or end.

Be sure to head over to Tim Hecker's Soundcloud page where you can check out "Virginal II" from the aforementioned Virgins, then download the album on iTunes.
