“The Other Side” is an intimate and soulful reach into the questions and emotions that troubled most of us during the last year. The track is one of two quarantine singles Free Union released at the beginning of 2021.
Based in Charlottesville, VA the band mixes sounds of rock, soul, and R&B in their music. The sound is captivating, to say the least; a classic soul combination of cymbals & hi-hats, along with sweet electronic guitar riffs and vocalist Michael Coleman alternating between softly sung vocals and strong, confident delivery on the hook makes for a great track.
In its essence, the song is optimistic and almost feels like having a conversation with yourself: warm, familiar and reassuring.
