Music that goes well with street-striding, in-house-slacking and breaking a sweat is a rare find, but Little Dragon's combo of soul and synth is equally good for putting on your dancing shoes and kicking them off.

The Swedish quartet has been around since before the year 2000, but it was after their 2011 LP Ritual Union that they gained recognition from critics and public alike. Continuing the streak of mainstream success, in May this year they released their fourth album Nabuma Rubberband. "Pretty Girls" is the third track off the LP with a video release, and as my repeat button can testify, one of my personal picks. The subtle instrumentation is comprised of beats and electronic patches, which sound as if coming from a distance, which gives the track a smooth, unassuming vibe. Because of this understated background, the major focus shifts onto Yukimi Nagano's sensual sleek vocals. With its velvety falsetto and lower registry on the chorus, the Swedish-Japanese singer's smoky voice is the emotional carrier in this otherwise quite tranquil tune.

The video re-introduces the zombie-obsessed voodoo chick from "Klapp Klapp", who this time forcibly enters ... a beauty pageant? See below:
