Post-rock is usually a genre with little to limited vocals. However, if vocals are used properly, the added effect can be stunning. Point in case is Mikaali Karlsson's song "Blahnjukur", off his debut EP, The Summit. The song, along with the other tracks on the EP, details the trip of climbing an Icelandic mountain. Blahnjukur, both the mountain and the song, is volcanic. As it progresses, Blahnjukur explodes with beauty as if it were a volcano.
Mikaali Karlsson is from Iceland, home to some of the most beautiful music in the world. His EP is definitely something worth checking out, as each track is as unique as the mountain it's named after.
