I first found out about Ticklish when he opened for GRiZ's European Tour date in Berlin last fall. The day of the show, I checked him out on soundcloud and was drawn to his bouncy, melodic production complemented by playful sampling. Being attracted to the percussive elements of electronic music, I felt Ticklish delivers really well on this front.
This track explores a few angles of electronic music subgenres with a medley of sorts. I was recently introduced to this interesting subgenre called footwork by one of our own writers, Tigran, which we get a taste of in this track. It's an interesting approach to music and dancing, I can imagine. About half-way through Ticklish's reboot of Bleaker's Hype (Funk), we get a taste of footwork, where there's syncopated, uptempo kick patterns absent of a snare clap.
Ticklish is a Berlin-based based producer who just embarked on his first US tour, so if he hits your hometown, I recommend checking it out.
