Bi-lingual music, especially English-Spanish, has been such a favorite in the past year or so - and I feel it's a great way to bridge listeners from the predominantly English-language music to the Spanish one.

Here's another gorgeous example of how this can be done effortlessly & in a very natural way. Meet Adriana Proenza, an 18-year-old singer from Madrid, who skyrocketed with her 2018 collab with Kina "Can We Kiss Forever" (with more than half a billion streams on Spotify).

Today, she's back with a neo-soul & jazz gem called "VOLVER" (meaning "to return), which is both utterly soothing & melancholic. A tale about letting go, a love lost, dependence & growing up, the song is rich in warm keys, delicate strings, and her absolutely beautiful & various vocals.

"Volver" was a very necessary song in my process of letting go, of stopping clinging to something that deep down I knew was no longer inside of me. Talk about understanding that you are no longer in love with that person with whom you had imagined a perfect future, of whom you were so blinded that it seemed that no one else in the universe could ever correspond to you as this one did, with whom you thought you were going to transcend to another universe through the senses", Adriana shares.

She adds, "It can be extrapolated to something much more general that is growing up and becoming an adult, and opening your eyes with respect to the dependence and exclusivity of anything in life. I don't believe that soul mates exist, and thanks to this song I have understood that it is very foolish to blind you that there is only 1 in 8 billion, it is adolescent, toxic and it is something that, in my next LP, I fight to detach myself from."

The official music video is shot on film and will surely make you feel nostalgic - so do check it out:
