Dream pop has been a staple of indie music for the past couple of years, and each year, it only gets better. Akiine's "Sunglassey" is the perfect example of this. We jump right into the track, with little instrumental introduction, other than that that accompanies her voice. The music is, as she has described it herself, beautiful in an otherworldly sense. The chorus is really where she excels, evoking images of fellow dream popper Lykke Li. Overall, it's a warm and gorgeous track that is hard not to fall in love with.

Akiine cites her influences as "otherworldly feelings, melodies, and heavenly harmonies." Other clear influences include the aforementioned Lykke Li and one of the most famed dream pop acts, Beach House. She has, deservedly so, earned the title of the new poster girl for dream pop.
