In my last Day Wave post I was tiny bit wrong. The journey wasn't over. Just the other day I got the following message, which I know it may sound stupid, but somehow made my day as I still feel hunger for this kind of music.
"Hey man! I'm releasing a new song this week, and I wanted to keep you in the loop as always"
As much as I love the stuff we post, having something so light and melancholically careless is much needed in my life... and this is where Oakland-based Jackson Phillips comes in.
Very happy to share with you his debut EP Headcase and I highly recommend just to play it from first to last song even if you had streamed the first 4 tracks already here on Stereofox. And then again.
Not sure how to describe the music because while it sounds something very logical, it could easily be put as "post-punk meets sad indie with a blend of breezy lightness from that time you spent your summer thinking about that one girl".
