Throughout the end of last year, artists like Bawo, Jordy, and Sainté were among my favorite in UK hip hop. And with that being said, it's no surprise why I was so drawn to Anwar as he exhibits similar talents to those artists.

The latest release "Shop" from the British rapper tastefully details the experience of growing up in the working-class neighborhoods of England, to the point where he stands as a mouthpiece for the teens that grew up in those regions. His lyrics are not only imbued with depth and substance, but the soulful instrumental also heightens his storytelling and continuously tugs on the attention of the listener.
