I'm so excited to introduce you to this amazing musician, composer and producer John Metcalfe.

I stumble upon this video quite randomly, then I found out this guy arranged some of the best album of the last two decades of artists such as Blur, Peter Gabriel and Coldplay.

This track is part of his fourth solo album The Appearance of Colors  an intriguing art piece with elements of what I consider the golden triangle: drum and bass, chamber music and post-rock.

Talking about his album, John says

I searched for greater transparency between acoustic and electronic sounds and investigated the idea of 'horizontal' music - to create harmony and progression by using interwoven monophonic lines as opposed to 'vertical' chords.

The colors of this song are Gold and Green, the ones of sprouting leaves (as he said he was particularly inspired by his love for trees).  And with some imagination, I can almost see it as such: a solid drum groove gives strength to high notes of the guitar, delicate and cheerful like leaves in the wind
