Jacob Summers aka Avid Dancer is a former US marine and a a world champion at the art of rudimental snare drumming (Thanks Spin and Wikipedia). Summers was born in Tennessee, raised in Alaska and is now based in LA. After having played drums in a bunch of local acts he decided to go big and work on his own material which turned to be exceptionally good.
His debut track "Stop Playing With My Heart" is a very fine psychedelic pop which so effortlessly throws you back to the 60's with its hazy retro sound (as opposed to his bright vocals).
I can't think of a single thing that is missing in the track, so sit back and enjoy. Avid Dancer is surely someone to watch in 2014.
