It's been something of a whirlwind year for the Leeds- based quartet Battle Lines. Coming out of nowhere they've managed to get slots at Reading and Leeds festival, secure multiple high profile support slots throughout the UK and released a highly sort after, limited edition 7" vinyl. They've been more productive than I have, that's for sure.
The heartbreaking lyrics of 'Colonies' are coupled with driving cerebral pop that includes droning guitars and booming drums to create a dream like song that will utterly disarm you. I see big things for Battle Lines in the future, so it's probably for the best if we get into them now and save ourselves some future embarrassment.
