Take Your Rest

12 months is a long time to wait for new music from a band, however, in the case of Australia's Battleships, I can safely say it's been well worth the wait. Almost an entire year on from the release of their debut mini-LP 'To You' (a total triumph that I implore you check out), Battleships return with a brand new, epic indie-rock anthem entitled 'Take Your Rest'. 

Released in the wake of their upcoming National Tour of Australia accompanying Boy and Bear, 'Take Your Rest' dramatically reinforces Battleships' incredible talent for writing catchy pop-rock anthems. The track's driving beat is instantly captivating, demanding attention beneath lead singer Jordan Sturdee's calming vocals. As the song gradually unveils, it grows layer on layer before eventually exploding in the songs emphatic, heart-raising final chorus. This song blows my mind.
