This is what I call a HAPPY day. After 4 years of silence, complete breakdown, divorce and whatever else crap came man's way, Zach Condon and the band have finally announced the new album and a tour.

And it is Beirut, Beirut at their best with a very joyful, anthem sounding comeback.  Welcome back, boys.

I think in a big way I had to take myself less seriously, because that was what was taking me down. I took everything so seriously. Like, if I wasn’t on the road, I didn’t exist as a musician. I never saw the humor in it. Not to say that there aren’t heavy moments in the album or that the whole thing is me being completely playful, and the fact is there were a lot of blood, sweat and tears that went into making it. But a big thing for me was realizing it was okay if I said something dumb, or play something that isn’t heavy or dramatic.
