Benjamin Clementine is originally from London, but left for Paris at the age of 20. For a couple of years he had a really rough life, but at some point he was spotted singing in the Paris metro and immediately signed to a label. After having taken Paris by storm he is confidently moving to new bigger successes.
This story is amazing on its own, but it gives me even more chills when I hear his debut EP "Cornerstone". It contains only two tracks: "Cornerstone" and "I Won't Complain" and you can listen to it on his Soundcloud. All the roughness of his life in Paris has penetrated his music: "Cornerstone" is a grim piano ballad filled with so many emotions and so powerful that you get taken aback at first. Piano complements his soulful and deep voice.
His live performance is also something worth mentioning: it's simply brilliant. Leaves me speechless.
