Well it is Thursday, so I figured I would use this day dedicated to throwbacks and share with you a favourite artist of mine - New Zealand's native producer Christoph El' Truento (currently known as Foraging).

The track is called "Sold", a cut from his 2012 EP01 ( which you can download from the link above), and it is definitely the smoothest track I've heard this week. It has a trip-hop inspired, nostalgic beat, which personally throws me back to my days listening to Bonobo's Animal Magic and Dial M for Monkey on repeat, while the vocals add to the mellow, weekend-mornings vibe of the track.

I still remember the day I discovered El' Truento's music, while desperately searching for producers with simlar sound to Flying Lotus - it just clicked in place. Christoph is known for using a lot of organic sounds and foley recordings in his production, which often expands into the highly experimental and avant-garde realms. This approach generates a very unique, conceptual atmosphere, which I believe is at its peak during his 2013 release : What We Used To Know - you can stream that album below. I can say a lot about this immersive album and it is truly a trip from start to finish. I often revisit it and find new and exciting things in the rich production. Highly recommended and stamped with the Fox's seal of approval!

Lastly, here is a pair of deep cuts from his other projects just to give you an appetizer of this genius, in my book, producer. Enjoy!
