“Everybody’s Son”, the latest track from Aussie singer/songwriter Cloves should definitely be on your listen list today. Granted, it’s a slow burner, but by no means is that a bad thing. The first half of this whimsical track is slow, laid back and emotive - most importantly, intriguing. You’re wanting and waiting for more.

Her vocals and increasing wonderment add so much to this track, but it builds and builds until you’re desperate for something great at the end of it. Thankfully she delivers. The crescendo of emotion and erratic vocals that come together afterwards create an offering that is everything an acoustic track should be.

At times, particularly towards the end, the track gets lost. It becomes harder to hear her words and the melody becomes uncertain - that’s when it gets extremely interesting. The track is overwhelmed with emotion and it brings “Everybody’s Son” to life. This track will definitely take you on a journey, but it’s a beautifully emotive way to do so.
