There is something about "Dishonest" that REALLY reminds me of The Hics... And my hunch is the fact that ColourTelly have beautifully added a bit of an experimental touch to R&B that resembles them.
The juxtaposition between smooth and rough textures was the first thing that grabbed my attention on here. This gives the track SO MUCH character, especially in the second verse where the comforting vocals all of a sudden become a tad jarring with the layer of distortion emblazoned here. Even though the production does have an electronic edge to it, its the gorgeous vocals that provide a soulful touch to the track - especially in the lively chorus!
