Music is timeless and it's one of those things that will be here long after all of us are gone. I rarely think about that time, but it has crossed my mind whether my (hopefully) grand-grand kids would go back to those ancient posts and explore the music of today. Art, in general, and it's ability to bottle a message, memory and X for years to come is what makes it so special.
