The gripping vocals paired with the stellar lyricism on Devin Donnell's new release, "fiftyfive" feels incredibly emotive, especially with his compelling storytelling.
What's evident throughout Devin's catalog is beats that blur the line between the golden era of hip hop and now, plus an overall soulful charm. On "fiftyfive", we're acquainted with both of these characteristics thanks to the soothing guitar arrangements, catchy pianos, and the heartfelt flows he delivers across the track. The manner in which he shifts from rapping and singing adds depth to the storytelling, allowing different emotions to surface naturally. I must say this is definitely one of my favorite hip hop discoveries of mine this year!
