"Today's Prayer" is the closing track off DoomCannon's eclectic new album Somewhere In Between, and I really enjoyed hearing the various spheres of jazz that Doom is able to stretch into.
DoomCannon is a London-based composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and all-round forward-thinking creative force. He exhibits this on Somewhere In Between in quite an elegant manner however, on the hip hop-influenced track "Today's Prayer" with TINYMAN, we're acquinted with a more raw yet cinematic side of DoomCannon's production. The incredibly vulnerable vocal performances of TINYMAN is heartfelt, especially when he seemlessly shifts between singing and rapping. Across the background, the mix is adorned with the cries of the trumpet while beefy drums keep everything grounded and keep the listener knodding along.
