It has been quite some time since I had consciously sat down with the idea of finding new post-rock music. My personal views on the genre are that it is really intimate music and it in order to really dive into it, one must really pay attention in the development of sounds throughout a song. Beauty lies within details.

So, last night I was checking the latest releases of our friends from Deep Elm Records, the label of Lights & Motion, and I heard Dorena's "My Childhood Friend" - a brilliant interplay between post-rock and... indie/punk rock music? You should have seen the "what the fuck?!" expression on my face when the cinematic intro smoothly transitioned into a cheerful and energizing string of sounds! Their new album "Nuet" is out next month and hopefully there will be more of those pleasant surprises!
