Folk-punk subgenre is something that I need to explore way more often. It is not like I have been avoiding it till now, it's just that the musical tree has so many branches and I can climb only few at a time. Nevertheless, today's finding will satisfie my hunger for quality music at least for couple of days ahead.

"Burnt Matches" by Ducking Punches is made up of the core vital tissues of punk smoothly coated in vibrant folk instrumental. A sorrowful violin, a guitar and a simple drum beat are the nervous system of the song. The melody itself is very catchy and it fits really well with the duo male-female vocals. As I have written this before, there is always this note of honesty, of truth in the lyrics and the voice of the artists when it comes to such alternative music genres. Ducking Punches have faced hardships in life and this certainly has its impact on their music.

"Burnt Matches" is one of the four tracks from the album I Am Arturo Bandini which was released in July, 2012 and it is available on bandcamp
