Dusky has finally unveiled their latest album Signals, and one of my favourite moments on here is the serene and spacey release "Never Forever".
I absolutely loved 2022's Joy from Dusky, and the fact that I can hear traces of that aesthetic across this new release, albeit with a more modern approach, makes me quite delighted. Why "Never Forever" stands out on Signals is that it channels an organic, downtempo/electronica feel that's bolstered by the drums and the dreamy keys trickling across the arrangement. The feather-like vocals deliver a rich, soulful charm, floating effortlessly above the production and adding another layer of emotional depth to the track.
