If you're sat there thinking "I don't know who Ella Eyre is" I can almost guarantee you that you're wrong. You will have heard her voice somewhere in 2013, as she's been on pretty much every song. Obviously I'm exaggerating just a little bit, but it is only a little bit. She featured on Bastille's insanely good mash up of TLC's 'No Scrubs' (quality tune) with The XX. On top of this she's collaborated with the likes of Tiny Tempah, Rudimental and Naughty and Wiz Khalifa. Oh, and did I mention she's only 19?

Well, Ella has big plans for next year, kicking off with the release of her EP the Deeper due to be released on December 15th (make sure to check out title track 'Deeper' here). Taken from the Deeper, we get a sneaky cover version of Gnarls Barkley favourite 'Going On' as a cheeky precursor to the EP and a demonstration of the kind of sound we can expect from Ella. Injecting a metric tonne of soul and gospel into the pop song adds a whole new dimension that the young singer makes her own. Truly funky stuff for a Thursday night.
