Erika de Casier's Still was a standout release for the Stereofox team last year, and it’s exciting to see her wasting no time in following it up with a fresh body of work, titled Lifetime.
There are two things that always draw me to the work of Portuguese artist Erika de Casier: her distinctive vocal delivery, and the nostalgic soundscape that's associated with her work. One of the brightest gems on Lifetime, "December" exudes both of those qualities. The atmospheric pads coupled with her dreamy vocal performance ushers us into a state of relaxation, and romantic yet melancholic lyrics tastefully juxtaposes this. This mixture creates such a moody listening experience brimming with emotion, one that gently tugs at the heart while wrapping you in a warm, introspective haze.
