The first time I heard Esmé, I immediately thought of the spaciness & mysticity of BANKS. And then it got even better.

The Sydney-based, Brooklyn-born singer dropped the gorgeous, heart-melting "ELLA" - named after her big inspiration Ella Fitzgerald. Esmé shares:

I was always drawn to a certain kind of jazz voice growing upa breathy sound that almost seems fragile, but it isn’t, and often reminiscent of a horn instrument, like Chet Baker. Listening to voices like Ella Fitzgerald always took me to a lighter place when I was young; this song kind of pays homage to that feeling, and to her.

The track was produced by the magnificent Royce Wood Junior, bringing in broken beats, electronic textures & airy tones.

Esmé's debut EP is set to be released at the end of 2019.
