Judging by the bands I have listened to so far I get the impression that the voice of melodic hardcore portrays life as a unfair, constant hardship. I can certainly agree that life does not always serve what you have wished for but I have also noticed something else.Many bands does this by fitting the lyrics into a standardized frame of a first person narrator describing his miserable, gruesome feelings and surroundings, yet it lacks the details.
In "Betrayer" there is actually a plot for you to follow. As the song goes by the story of a family soon to be broken is revealed. Lyrics are particularly powerful in this song. To betray is the worst one can do to his/her family and the worst part is that kids are always scared for life.
"Betrayer, where is your head? Betrayer, where is your heart? Betrayer, I will never be like you. Betrayer, I will always despise you."
