Jacques Greene's recent run of collaborations has been so tasteful and seems to be a core feature during his UKG/breakbeat-leaning era we're currently in. What continuously snatched my attention throughout closer is the fascinating sound design and the things these two wizards are doing with the vocals. The stereofield regularly fluctuates between punchy and minimal to full and lush as atmospheric synths swell across the mix. A great example of this sentiment is found towards the second half when the track is layered with airy textures, and then we're suddenly acquainted with a thumping kick and bass line - a moment I'm sure was made to get ravers riled up.
