Creating complexity with just 3 instruments is no easy task and that is one of the reason why I've always put Jakob close to the top of my favourite post-rock bands. I guess it is needless to say that their discography is an obligatory stop through the world of post-rock music. I am no guitar expert, but there must be a lot of looping and delay plus a strong emphasis on the bass in order to make up for the lack of numerous guitar players. If I have to describe the feeling I get from their music, it would be "emotional, powerful and epic soul uplifting".

The trio is based in New Zealand and unfortunately they rarely leave those geographic coordinates. Sadly, they recently canceled their European tour, so all I have to do is pray for new dates in the near future.

ps. I love "Malachite", but my heart belongs to "Semaphore"
