Just a few months after interviewing Jerk, we're back with some new music crafted by the New York-based psychedelic jazz act.
The new single, "steppin out", feels like a freeform exploration of the creative space where jazz, hip hop, and r&b quietly blur, shaped by everyone from Charlie Parker to J Dilla. I also get a bit of Thundercat vibes on this one, but it could be just me.
There's something really cool about the smooth groove on the tune and the brilliant vibe-switch every once in a while. At times, I feel like I listen to two different tracks together, don't you?
