Jimmy Q's newest release, "Tappan Z" blends vintage elegance with a modern groove, ultimately culminating in a feel-good jazz house track with marvelous sampling.
Jimmy Q is a New York City-based music producer and DJ, however when you listen to this track, you'd be surprised by some of his highlights. Among Jimmy's list of collaborations are Russ, Kota the Friend, Domo Genesis, Conductor Williams, and Statik Selektah. On his latest release, he transfers his sampling talents to the realm of house music and has reshaped a classic by the great Bob James. The horns breathe life into the breakdown section while the groovy drums, bass, the glossy keys make up the bulk of the groove section. What makes this different from other jazz house releases is the retro feel inspired by jazz from the 1970s.
