In recent times, Jon Gurd and Reset Robot have emerged as a formidable presence in the electronic underground, and on their latest release they channel the emotive energy of Bicep and George Fitzgerald.
Throughout 2025, Jon Gurd and Reset Robot appeared to tap into a powerful creative synergy, spending much of the year releasing music predominantly as a duo. It seams like this continues in the new year too, and the gorgeous new track "Forest" marks the start of their run. The UKG-inspired drums here along with the dark bass presence offers a fierce mood, and this is brightened and contrasted by sharp string embellishments that lead the melodic progression. I can't neglect to mention the thick atmospheric textures hanging over the backdrop which add depth and tension to the mix.
