Joya Mooi's trippy, slow jams were always a fav to me.

Today, we're seeing her in a new, more upbeat light. A song about disobedience, "Good Girl" finds her soulful vocals on top of fast hihats & trap-like beatwork, thanks to frequent collaborator Blazehoven. Joya elaborates on her relationship with conformity:

We’re moulded from an early age to behave, not to cuss, be slightly attractive - but not too much. I think when I was young I could feel the subtleties, the ways I felt restrained. Still sadly enough I think I still internalised some. These patriarchal manners suppress self-expression and emancipation.
