Most of us know Justin Vernon from his Bon Iver days, but just the other day I stumbled upon his ver very early work and this is pure bliss.
You can obviously hear that this is Justin Vernon, but it's incredible how much his sound has evolved while still remaining the heart wrenching self that we know as Bon Iver. This is the track off his 2005 Self Record. I think it sets the mood right for his For Emma, Forever Ago, but still maintains the very raw sound. I'm sure if you like Bon Iver this will be right up your alley.
I urge to go and listen to his early releases: 2001 Home Is, 2005 Self Record and 2006 Hazeltons.
