"IT'S FINE" serves as the last installment of JVLY's stellar new body of work SUNDER - a concept record designed to be experienced as a full-circle story.
The Australia-based producer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist has impressively carved a lane for himself with his tasteful mixture of r&b, bedroom pop, disco, and electronica. On the new single however, we're welcomed to a side of JVLY that also explores psych rock as the track progresses from calm to uplifting. The dreamy vocals are complemented by scattered, glistening arps while a smooth guitar strums set a sultry mood. This all changes when the bright synths enter the mix and an explosive guitar solo takes center stage, along with the presence of a gorgeous sax to bring the track to a close.
"The track evolves across two emotional dimensions —starting with the dreamy and reflective ‘IT’S FINE’, a playful nod to the mental tricks we play on ourselves, before descending into the hazier, psychedelic depths of ‘SOJU ON THE MOON’, exploring the comedown from that self-deception."
