Today, we celebrate the second volume of KAMAE's Chicago Sessions - a project that spotlights the versatility of the Dutch beatmaker. Rooted in the same sessions that birthed volume 1, these 7 tracks offer a deeper glimpse into the evolution of the producer. While the vibe feels familiar, there's a clear sense of growth, both sonically and emotionally, as KAMAE continues to shape his unique blend of mellow beats and soulful textures.
Chicago Sessions are inspired by his time spent in the Windy City as an engineering student in 2017/18 and pay homage to the talented artists Sebastian crossed paths with. I chose to spotlight one of my favorite joints on the release - "Train of Thought" featuring the impeccable and smooth as butter delivery of Daylight Tone. Been jamming to this gold old weekend with an endless head bop that almost caused me a neck injury. A certificate for greatness.
