I don't know about you but I'm used to hearing Kojey Radical in a darker manner.
Luckily, the UK rapper has always got some surprises up his sleeve and his new single "Conversation" is exactly that. A "raw & restless" song, aiming to get real with the listeners - about what it's like to be overwhelmed in a chaotic world and keep yourself together. Kojey elaborates:
“Conversation“ is a love letter to my younger self and a time capsule for my angst. It’s proof that even when life’s chaotic, you can still build something lasting. I made this album with my people in mind — the ones who’ve grown with me, who’ve held me down through the quiet and the noise. Don't Look Down is a thank you. Not just for listening, but for seeing me before the world caught up.”
The jazz-dnb-influenced tune, produced by his frequent collaborator Swindle, carries uplifting live-sounding drums, rock-inspired guitars from Ashton Sellars & soulful vocals from Neil Waters. A true dream team.
"Conversation" also marks the announcement of Kojey Radical's sophomore album, Don't Look Down, due this September.
