As ridiculous it may sound, my dad discovered the power of YouTube... yesterday. Needless to say, he literally didn't move from the PC for a long time. At some point I began showing him some artists who incorporate Bulgarian motives in their music and naturally we ended up listening to Kottarashky when it struck me - we've never shared this brilliant music.

Considered as one of the most creative Bulgarian producers, Nikola draws inspiration from local folklore sounds, jazz, experimental and electronic music. Nowadays, he's always accompanied by his band The Rain Dogs and I cannot really confirm this, but I know for a fact that for the recording of his first album Opa Hey! he traveled the region and did field recordings which later on he used in his work.

If you are curious to explore the sounds of the Balkans, wrapped in a mind-blowing layer of modern electronic sounds... well, we've got you covered!
