Paris, France is a (supposed, I've never been) place of beauty and wonder. And so it's no wonder that The Last Port is based out of the famed city. The band's songs are all short ones that manage to flawlessly combine elements from post-rock, shoegaze, and electronica to form some of the most beautiful tracks I have ever heard in my young life. The first track I heard by the band was "10011", a four minute epic.

A slow and gorgeous guitar melody kicks off "10011". It is this guitar that carries the listener throughout most of the song. But what really makes this song so special is The Last Port's minimal use of electronic elements to subtly build up the warm, ambient, and, in every sense of the word, awesome mood. When you put everything together, each piece of the song combines to create an almost cinematic experience, akin to artists such as Lights & Motion or Explosions In The Sky.
