I’ve always been drawn to Lonr.’s world-building approach to music, and with Peon, he once again pulls us deep into his sonic universe.

With deep, personal lyrics and experimental production, somehow Lonr.'s brand of r&b makes you feel both uneasy and comforted simultaneously. The manner in which he repeats the words "I've got a death wish" is haunting, while the instrumental feels uplifting especially thanks to the bright guitars and the soundscape created in the chorus. I can't neglect to mention the raw punch of the drums that add to the track's grit and appeal.

"Peon is his first project as an independent artist after getting free from his Major Label deal at Epic records, and marks a notable shift in his sound, away from commercialism and towards authenticity."
