For better or worse, poetry (and literature) was my first love among the arts, which is probably part of the reason I have a soft spot for slower, lyrical tracks like “Dreamers” and dazzling voices like Lou Berry’s.

The Parisian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist has teamed up with fellow French talents Gracy Hopkins and LYNN to deliver this gorgeous neo-soul, alternative R&B delight, which is also part of her debut album Inner World.

“‘Dreamers’ explores the dangers one faces when pursuing a dream. You could lose your way, regret your choices, or be mistaken about the real nature of your dream. In hindsight, the theme makes me think about Icarus myth: If you want to fly to close from the sun you’ll end up with burned wings. The musical atmosphere is oneiric and solemn. It plays along with the characters' stories.”

As I listen to “Dreamers” and drift into my very own dream of strings of words that form sentences that turn into pages revealing worlds of peculiar familiarities, I’m overwhelmed with a feeling of gratitude for all artists who pursue their dreams and mould them into inspiration. Just like Lou Berry does with this track.
