For many if not for most bands, their choice of language is English. Personally, I find it very refreshing to listen to bands which perform in their mother tongue. I guess that certain emotional charge might get lost in the translation if I do not understand it but I am sure this is not the case with these fellows.
Marathonmann are a German post-hardcore band from Munich. Honestly, I would not have had the lyrics in any other language even if I could. In fact, it even pumps me up more when listening to the song in German. The pace is fast and melodic. The vocals together with the instrumental gather a great momentum and build up an emotive experience throughout the whole song.
A bit more than a month ago Marathonmann released their first album. The EP, you can listen on soundcloud, which "Die Stadt gehört den Besten" is also part of.
