Another Australian! Flume, who has been making great music for a long time, and his self-titled album is definitely worth checking out if you are into nice, experimental, electronic music. He creates a wide mix of downtempo, house, two-step music, and also has some incredible remixes that have been floating around the 'blogosphere'.
One of his standout recent remixes is "Woman of the Ghetto", a rework of Marlena Shaw's timeless classic, featured on the Verve: First Ladies EP - a collection packed with fresh reinterpretations from an impressive roster of artists. It's another reminder of Flume's uncanny ability to transform iconic records into something entirely his own. I'm hoping to catch him at a festival while I'm back in the UK, because when that drop hits, whether through headphones or a festival sound system.
It's impossible not to move.
