UK-based singer-songwriter Maxine Scott whisks us into a daydream with her velvet-smooth vocals on her latest single "New To This".
The talented songstress possesses a sound that leans toward future soul and nu-jazz. She had already made quite the impression on the nu-jazz scene since she landed on Ramrock Blue Records last year. On "New To This" she exhibits a sort of charming innocence not only through the theme and lyrics but also through her vocal delivery. One of my favorite parts is certainly the drums alongside the slightly atmospheric synths hanging over the stereo field, especially since they complement her stellar harmonies.
