It's been a hectic day and I didn't think my brain would squeeze a write-up or anything else than a mindless stare, but this song caught me off guard and it actually felt like the perfect fit for the state of mind I am in.

So, here we are - diving head first into Megan Kate's psychedelic experience titled "The Meantime". For those of us who remember the 90s (even remotely), there's going to be something weirdly familiar in this track. I bet if you dig deep enough in your brain, you will find traces and influences from at least a bunch of favourite notorious electronic acts from the past decade. In addition, the song should be the sine qua non of your next mind trip.

Anyhow, the part I loved the most is the kicking off at 00:44. There's something about the depth of that sounds which reminds me (as I mentioned) of the early 90s grunge scene blended with the acid trip vibe of Twin Peaks. I don't think I can put things any other way. Bottom line, this sound wave crafted by the South African producer is dope. I have to share the booking process taken off her SoundCloud. I just have to.

Light 5 candles (in a neat circle)
take 1 x1 blunt butter knife and carve your details into your arm.

We'll be sure to get back to you xx

"The Meantime" is definitely a tune I would drum along with with pleasure next time I find myself behind a kit.

edit1... damn, now I know what this reminds me of - Soda Stereo's "La Suicdad de la Furia"
