We've been long-term fans of Brooklyn-based DJ and producer Mini Sants, so this new adventure is more than welcomed by everyone on the team. I read that he has a surfing background, which he incorporates in the sound he's been chasing. That clicked as soon as I figured it out because of that cool signature beach-electronic-nostalgia. It is cool to see him bring along British funk-lord newcomer Toby Lewis-Evans, who is certainly making a statement with this debut.
With his take on the original, Toby leans into that sun-kissed groove that feels just as right by the coast as it does on a late-night dance floor. It’s smooth, playful, and effortlessly catchy. I feel that this is the kind of remix that lives on the border between indie-electronic warmth and pop-leaning rhythm, but with a touch of disco funk. Instant feel-good pill.
