On his latest release, "Move Time" with John Glacier, the veteran MJ Cole sounds rejuvenated as his production dives into a moodier, modern-esque form of UK bass music.
My first encounter with MJ Cole was learning about his pivotal role in the foundation of UK garage back in the mid to late 90s. I love how he’s managed to remain relevant while continuously reshaping his sound into something that still feels forward-thinking, no matter the era. In fact, "Move Time" sounds like a fierce mixture of Machinedrum and Jasper Tygner, and it's compelling to think that this is coming from MJ Cole. John Glacier's vocal presence on the production is rich with swagger and a dark kind of charisma, a feature that really breathes life into the whole experience.
